FAQ • Frequently Asked Questions

If I have to weld a particularly dirty piece of copper and iron, how do I proceed?

Mechanically remove any rust, thoroughly clean the residue and apply Flashbk

How long does it take to clean a piece to weld using the pad?

3 to 5 minutes depending on the size of the pipe.

Using Flashbk, you don’t need to waste as much time cleaning the part, just a quick and easy wipe with the applicator

Why do I need to use flux on the freshly cleaned piece?

To prevent it from starting the process of oxidizing the part.

FLASHBK develops, upon contact with the workpiece to be cleaned, a protective film that keeps it clean for a long time and slows down the natural oxidation process. The preventive use of flux is thus avoided.

How much does it cost for the worker's time to clean the part mechanically?

It costs an average of € 1.65 per piece cleaned (average diameter)

The same laborer costs € 0.12 if the part was cleaned with FLASHBK

How long does a weld take?

5 to 10 minutes depending on the size of the solder pipe

The time is reduced by half if the workpiece has been cleaned with FLASHBK because its special protective film helps the alloy flux better, without the need for much insistence with the flame.

How much does welding cost overall?

A weld on average diameter workpiece costs €1.65/€3.30 (material/worker cost/welding time) in total.

The cost is reduced by about 50% using FLASHBK.
In fact, an average weld costs a total of (material/worker cost/welding time) €0.99/€1.65
